They made two mistakes: they hung the wrong man and they didn't finish the job. In 'Hang 'Em High' (1968), Clint Eastwood stars as retired lawman Jed Cooper, who is falsely reprimanded and hanged by a posse of 9 men (led by Bruce Dern as Reno and Ed Begley as Captain Wilson)! After being freed by Marshal Dave Bliss (Ben Johnson), and exonerated and rehired as a lawman by Judge Adam Fenton (Pat Hingle), Eastwood goes off to arrest the men that did him wrong. Duels, hangings, and even a romance with Rachel Warren (Inger Stevens) ensue!
