The one-eyed fat man rides again! John Wayne reprises his Oscar-winning role as Marshal Rooster Cogburn, the hard-drinking lawman who teams up with spinster missionary Eula Goodnight (Katharine Hepburn) to track down a gang of outlaws who have stolen a shipment of nitroglycerin. When the criminals kill Eula's father and several others, she insists on joining Cogburn's pursuit for justice.
